Skillsmart Retail is once again on the look out for rising stars as it searches for this year’s Retail Apprentice of the Year.
The competition is part of Retail Week’s prestigious Rising Star Awards and is now open for applications, aiming to seek out the very best retail apprentice in the country.
The award recognises those whose contribution to the workplace has exceeded their employer's expectations by producing exceptional and measurable benefits as a retail apprentice.
Now in its third year, the award celebrates the achievements of retail apprentices and their employers and culminates in the glitzy Rising Stars dinner on Thursday 10th September at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.

skillVM: UK-wide visual merchandising competition
skillVM searches for the 'best of the best' visual merchandisers in the UK, highlighting the creativity, skill and flair involved in working in retail.
Running from October 2008, it will see teams of both experienced and student visual merchandisers fighting for places in UK-wide live heats in the hope of building their designs at a high-profile live finale at the In-Store Show in 30 June -1 July 2009.
Winners of the competitions could also have the chance to showcase their talents at EuroSkills or become truly world-class and take part in WorldSkills, the largest international skills competition in the world to be held in London in 2011.
